Luxury living in the heart of downtown! This spacious downtown custom penthouse was designed by renowned architect Jeff Shelton. Featuring 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, this sunny, mountain facing unit offers breathtaking views, and a full roof top deck with a hot tub.
The living quarters of this luxury penthouse occupy the 3rd and 4th floors of this multi-level building with a secure garage on the first floor and a private elevator. The bedroom quarters offer beautiful hardwood floors and spacious sleeping arrangements with two bedrooms with private baths to accommodate up to four guests. The guest bedroom provides a comfortable queen size bed and a full wall of windows with a private patio overlooking the city and mountains, and a large en suite bathroom. Through the adjacent arching doorway, guests will find a spacious, private master bedroom with a king size bed facing a large window with views of the mountains. The en suite bathroom includes a soaking tub and large walk in shower. This master suite also offers a large walk in closet. Between the two bedrooms, guests have use of a full laundry closet with washer and dryer.
The main floor of this luxury home can be found on the next level upstairs. This Spanish style home with gorgeous tile floors and whimsical hand blown light fixtures offers plenty of open space for relaxing and dining. At the entrance to this floor, guests are greeted by a custom designed corner bar and a spacious kitchen with handcrafted wood and marble countertops, and top of the line kitchen appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked for preparing meals at home while overlooking the amazing mountain and city views. Next to the kitchen, guests can enjoy relaxing and looking at the views or cuddling up on the sofa in the media nook with a flat screen television.
The highlight of this unique property can be found upstairs on the rooftop deck. This level is perfect for outdoor dining, relaxing by the firepit, and soaking in the hot tub overlooking the city lights of Santa Barbara. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months.

If you want to feel like you are living the life, stay at El Jardin. The location is perfect, a short walk to State Street and the Funk Zone where most of the best shops and restaurants are, and just a quick hop to the beach as well. The view of the riviera is amazing, there is plenty of room, and similar to how all of the Jeff Shelton buildings are laid out, the entertaining areas are plenty both indoor and out, and the sleeping areas very private. There are a lot of stairs, but also, an elevator if needed to access all 5 floors, including the rooftop with a hot tub! The beds are very comfortable which is, for me, super important. There is self check-in which makes everything easy and the management responds very quickly and is super helpful. While not inexpensive, it definitely feels like you get your money's worth. Can't wait to come back and stay again!

Review of El Jardin, Santa Barbara
I stayed in El Jardin for 5 weeks during June & July 2021 with my wife and younger daughter and we all absolutely loved the property. The property is fairly unique from an architectural point of view but it was also very well set up inside. The kitchen had everything we needed and with the large windows was sunny all day long. The bedrooms were nice and roomy and the master bedroom had a lovely bathtub for soaking in at night. My favourite part of the place though was the roof with its wonderful views of the hills and the jacuzzi, fire pit and BBQ. We spent many a happy evening with a glass of wine in hand, listening to music through the speakers on the roof and admiring the sunset. The only one drawback to the property was that the master bedroom bathroom for some reason didn't have any blinds. We got round this by hanging clothes over the windows but it wasn't an ideal solution. I have mentioned this to the management company so hopefully it won't be a problem in the future. On the subject of the management company they were great and always responded quickly to any of my queries or requests, even non-urgent ones at the weekend. We were sad to leave after 5 weeks and I have already recommended the property to several friends.
