This two-suite, plus a den, townhome is located in a small complex of homes. It is a sweet starting point for any coastal getaway while enjoying the comfort and residential feel in a well-established community setting. There is also a refreshing pool as an alternative to a jump in the nearby ocean!
Enter the home on the ground floor, with an attached two-car garage. Stairs lead to the second-floor living room with fireplace, television and soaring vaulted ceiling. A comfortable, corner sectional and swivel chairs anchor the bright, open space, offering a great spot to settle in for movie might or entertain comfortably. The adjacent terrace offers a seating area and the surprise option of a hammock! A propane heater keeps things toasty on cooler nights too.
Adjacent to the living room is a den with a generous corner desk for those working from home, sofa sleeper, and attached full bathroom with shower; French doors make it possible to close this room off to convert the room to a third suite.
A newly renovated kitchen up a few stairs to the mezzanine level, and sparkles with white quartz counters, new wood flooring, pretty Wedgewood blue cabinetry, and is stocked with everything the seasoned chef needs. A breakfast bar and dining area enhance this well-equipped epicenter making it delightful for guests to gather, cook, dine, and relax. With the convenience of an expandable dining table and extra chairs, there are options for diners to enjoy quality time together. Step outside to a small terrace where a barbecue and table offer a perfect perch for a sunset cocktail. A powder room off the kitchen adds convenience. Take time to pop into Lazy Acres, a popular local gourmet market right next door, where shopping for fresh ingredients for meals and picnics is a culinary experience not to be missed. Their wine section, cheese counter, and gourmet deli are also quite extensive for grab-and-go snacks on the run.
On the third floor are two suites, each offering king-size beds and en suite bathrooms. The primary suite, with a fireplace and television, is a comfortable space to unwind after a long day and an outside terrace offering a private spot to wake up slowly after a great night's sleep in the comfy bed. The attached bathroom is luxurious with a walk-in shower, and dual vanity. A walk-in closet completes the offerings in the suite. The second suite has a reading corner, an attached bathroom, and a sunny disposition. Inside the walk-in closet are the front-loading washer and dryer units as well. Rooms are outfitted with plantation shutters and ceiling fans.
Living on the Mesa is an exceptional experience with so many local favorite spots to dine casually (...try Mesa Burger!!), sip spirits, and savor locally roasted coffee. The true gift of this property, though, is being able to walk everywhere. La Mesa Park is across the street, Shoreline Park is about a half mile away, Santa Barbara City College is down the road, and the ocean beaches are super close by. Shoreline Retreat just makes sense for those seeking a relaxed atmosphere and local, beach-town vibe.
Oh, and this is cool! With the recent addition of E-bikes all over the city, it's great fun to bike downtown, explore the Funk Zone, head out to Montecito for some shopping, or cruise along the Cabrillo Boulevard boardwalk and take in the sights! Wonderful stay
We enjoyed Shoreline Retreat - property was as pictured, very nice amenities and could not ask for more. This is our 4th VRSB property and they never disappoint.

Incredible Stay!
Spacious town house in quiet neighbourhood. We spent around 5 weeks in this lovely townhouse on our first visit to Santa Barbara. Very well equipped and located in a lovely part of town.
