This tastefully renovated single level flat in a well-established, uptown, residential complex has a relaxed, coastal style that melds tastefully with new, mid-century style furnishings. The feel is stylish, fresh, and fabulous! This area, just north of downtown on Upper State Street, has a residential feel yet is only a few minutes from downtown's energy and fun. Or pack up for the day and head to the beach. The best of Santa Barbara is very easy to get to from here!
The unit is easily accessible within the complex via elevator from the main parking and semi-private garage. Once inside the reimagined great room is an open, happy space. A showstopping custom coffee table and dual leather couches create a cozy corner to enjoy the large-screen television and fireplace. The round teak table is ideal for elegant dining, long conversations, and lingering over tasty locally-made desserts. (Local's tip: Try the Chocolate Heaven Cake from Jeannines Bakery or decadent French pastries from Renaud's Patisserie a couple blocks away.) The masterfully designed kitchen in coastal blues and whites is bright and well-equipped, with seating at a generously-sized island of quartz anchoring the culinary activity. Though a Keurig coffee maker is at home, the new Starbucks is just up the road too!
Outside is the enclosed courtyard, where a trickling fountain adds a tranquil backdrop to an already serene space. With the addition of the Weber gas grill, ambient lighting, seating, and immediate access to the community pool just outside the private gate, guests have ideal outdoor spaces for all seasons. Chaise lounges and patio tables surround the complex's pool terrace and there is plenty of shade under the cabana too!
In the primary suite, guests will enjoy the comfortable king-size bed, television, and pool terrace views. Grab a book from the living room library collection and hang out in the oversized armchair for hours. An attached bathroom has dual sinks, a walk-in shower, laundry, and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and television, with a full bathroom across the hallway for guest convenience.
As a point of departure, Uptown Hideaway is a great starting point for exploring the city, the coast, and surrounding communities. Perhaps a day of wine tasting or a glider ride in Santa Ynez is in order. Maybe fishing on Cachuma Lake is more in line with the group plan. Stop at the visitor center on Cabrillo Blvd. across from the beach for tons of recreational and touring options. Or for that special occasion, would a loved one appreciate a fine dining experience in Montecito? E-Bikes are the ideal way to get around, too; they're parked all over town.
