Paradise on the beach! Sitting right on the sand at one of the most beautiful semi-private beaches in Santa Barbara, “The Boathouse” is the perfect retreat! This property is located on the best part of Miramar Beach! Constructed of teak, mahogany and white spruce, accompanied by etched and stained glass windows, this unique cottage has been designed to look and feel like a well-built custom sailing vessel. The property consists of two separate one bedroom/one bathroom units joined by a connected stairway inside and a common entrance from the outside. Each unit can be rented separately (sleeping 2 adults and 2 children) or together for a maximum of 6 to 8 people. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months.
The Upper Unit features a fireplace and larger enclosed deck. Relax and enjoy the amazing view as you listen to the sound of the surging waves. Let the waves lull you to sleep in a comfortable queen size bed. For your entertainment, this cozy cabin is also equipped with a television, cable TV and wifi. However, you will be too busy enjoying the outdoors! Just a few steps to the sand, where plenty of beach accessories await for your enjoyment—chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and boogie boards included.
When you are ready to enjoy a meal, a small kitchen provides all that you need for cooking or step up to the roof deck for your barbequing pleasure! (Deck is shared with lower unit). If eating out at great restaurants is more your style, Montecito’s lower Village is only a mile away and downtown Santa Barbara is a short 10 minute drive. When flying into the area, the property is easily accessible from Santa Barbara Airport (only about 20 minutes away) and Los Angeles (90 miles south). The Boat House is truly a relaxing place to get away for it all! Come and escape to Miramar Beach!
Please Note: If both units are rented by separate parties, expect some interaction due to the nature of the internal stairs, upper deck, shared laundry, and common stairs to the beach. This property is equipped with multiple sets of stairs that are required for access down to the unit from the parking lot and down to the beach. It may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. The interior carpeted stairs have walls on both sides but no railings, additionally the small set of exterior stairs leading down from the unit directly onto the beach does not have railings.

This was a unique high quality vacation spot. The Boathouse was a beautiful place and loved the whole vibe and decor! Nice to have a full kitchen to make meals. Bed linens and towels were very nice. Bed was very comfortable. But the star attraction was the view and location! Steps right down to the beach. You can set up umbrellas and chairs and leave your things and go back up to the house and not worry about anyone bothering it. Miramar beach is beautiful and the water was exceptionally clear. Great location to Monticeto and Santa Barbara. Only recommendation I would give for this rental is that it needs a new outdoor table and umbrella. Very unstable. Was not able to open umbrella to protect us from the sun. But overall we love the place and enjoyed our stay very much! I would rent from them again! Good experience!
My wife and our 9 month old had an amazing time here. The location was amazing and we will definitely be coming back!
Top notch stay all around! The house has a great vibe and it was the perfect spot for our mini vacation! Easy IN, Easy OUT. Close to everything! A hotel just can't provide the type of experience this home did. So unique. Worth every penny! Ocean breezes, rooftop bbq, full kitchen, cool shower… a perfect experience for our Santa Barbara visit! Thank you for being such great hosts! This is at the top of our ‘coolest vacations' list!

Clean, beautiful surroundings and the beach house had a fun nautical charm.
This is a great spot for 2. My hubby and I did a STAY-cation and it was so great to wake up to the ocean every morning and just enjoy the beach. We were able to walk into town for dinner one night and then also cooked at the unit another night. There is a BBQ up top, and the kitchen has pretty much everything you need. dishwasher int he upper unit and I would not have more than 2 people. Great for a weekend escape.

This beach cottage was the perfect getaway for Valentine's Day weekend. It was very cozy with a beautiful deck where you could enjoy the beach all day long. You can access the beach easily and the Rosewood hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. It's the upper unit of a house so you do share a hallway entrance with downstairs guests. Everything was very nice!
