Coastal Cabana at West Beach
2 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms · Sleeps 6 · 4.93 stars (30 reviews)
A "cabana" conjures up images of laying under a shady umbrella on plush towels while sipping on a tropical cocktail…an ideal place to relax while on vacation, right?! Our "Coastal Cabana" is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom downstairs unit in a completely renovated triplex.
With an open floor plan and fresh renovated style, the living, dining, and kitchen areas become a communal hub for guests to cook, watch TV, mix up a tropical drink, and hang out effortlessly. Perch on a bar stool at the granite center island to stay close to the culinary action in the kitchen, or enjoy a quick snack before heading out to the beach with boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella in tow…all provided!
In the primary bedroom, stream a favorite movie on the flat screen tv while sinking into a comfy queen-size bed. The shower in the en-suite bathroom adds a touch of luxury with a rain shower head and a hand-held sprayer. In the second bedroom, fall into the king-size bed when the day is done, watch a bit of television, or doze off and dream about what tomorrow holds. And if the phone charger didn't make it into the suitcase, there are multi-charging cables and sound machines on both bedside tables. How smart! Fine linens and plush, fluffy towels make it extra special.
A signature highlight is the large outdoor patio, where bistro lights illuminate a comfortable space to be outside to enjoy the mild Santa Barbara climate. There is a Weber propane grill, dining for eight guests, a seating area, and a bit of shade for those warmer days. With deliberate intent to maintain that indoor-outdoor mood, the patio is a true extension of the home. Though there could be guests upstairs in Coastal Breeze, the patio just outside is for the exclusive use of Coastal Cabana guests, not shared by the other units. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months.
A short walk will put visitors front and center on West Beach and Cabrillo Boulevard. Be sure to walk to the Funk Zone for world-class wine tasting, live music, novelty eateries, and unique boutiques. The Harbor lights are soothing after sunset, try a tart margarita at Brophy's, or buy the local daily catch at Santa Barbara Seafood Company and bring it back for a heathy meal at home. There is so much, nearby. Please note with its location in the hotel zone some normal street and small business type noise could be expected, though overall the location is great for a coastal getaway in the heart of West Beach.
Have a larger group? There are two more units in this triplex. As mentioned, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom upstairs unit is Coastal Breeze. Coastal Palm is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse. Each unit has its own patio or terrace to enjoy. It's a cool collective to call home for a weekend getaway, or stay as long as you like! Choose one, choose all….but always have fun!

Clean apartment with all you need. It does seem the appliances and such were a bit of an economized renovation. Does have laundry but its kind of "outside" in a shed type structure.
We had a wonderful trip to Santa Barbara. The location is ideal for walking to the beach as well as State Street. We loved using the outdoor patio at the house. The hosts were very communicative leading up to and during our stay. They provided plenty of amenities to make our stay extra nice. The train is quite loud in the morning – around 6/7AM – so beware if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, we would happily stay again.
Amazingly clean and equipped.
My family and I had a great time celebrating the 4th of July. The place is in great location, walking distance from the beach and a lot of restaurants. And a short drive from most attractions. The condo was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. We would stay here again. I highly recommend it.
We had an excellent stay here over the week between Christmas and New Years. The condo had a great space for entertaining and we found ourselves hosting my siblings and their children for multiple dinners. The condo had everything you could possibly need to cook. We made brownies, brunch, and even gumbo. All we needed to provide was the ingredients. The location can't be beat. Easily walk to the beachfront, the Wharf, the shops of State Street, or the Funk Zone (our favorite destination). Every day we were able to walk and have breakfast a different little local bakery. No shortage of options nearby! My Apple Fitness was wondering what the heck was happening cause my daily steps exploded the week we stayed there.
Very relaxing stay in beautiful Santa Barbara. Condo was exactly as described, very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped in both kitchen and linens, very close to the beach. We enjoyed our stay!
This is the perfect location to walk to great restaurants, fun shopping, and access to several beaches. It's walking distance to SBCC, State street, and the funk zone.
My daughter and I stayed there while visiting my family. This is the perfect spot to be. The unit was beautiful, clean, spacious, and open. The patio was a great spot to sit in the evening with a glass of wine, or to unwind after a busy day. 2 blocks from the beach is easy to reach for a morning stroll in the sand, or wide clean walking path. Everything in the unit was provided (although the tV's were a bit hard to operate, as I'm not used to streaming. ) The bedrooms were spacious and the king and Queen bed were comfortable. If we ever coming to Santa Barbara again this will be the place for us!
We loved the great location and the excellent price! We will definitely be coming back!
5++ stars!! This place was absolutely amazing and our family (2A, 2K- 10, 7) enjoyed staying here and would definitely book again next time we're visiting relatives. All amenities were thoughtfully included to make our stay comfortable, right down to the beach tar wipes (which we needed!) and the delightful Wes Anderson coffee table book that we enjoyed reading. Location – Moments to the freeway, and the rest is all walkable- three blocks to the beach, short walk to the pier and On The Alley for a delicious bite and eight minutes to State and the Funk Zone. Grocery store and a pub are conveniently around the corner. House – As others have mentioned, the sound does carry from the other units, but wasn't a huge issue for us. We found the beds to be a bit soft and a clothes drying rack would be useful, but otherwise no complaints. Property is spotlessly clean, includes a good quality beach set, extra towels/linens, full sized laundry, parking and lovely outdoor patio/bbq area.
