New owners have tastefully reimagined every room of this 1965 iconic home, initially designed by renowned architect Frank Robinson for acclaimed local jeweler George Brooks. It is a shining jewel on 3/4 of an acre of serenity. With three bedrooms, a separate attached office off the carport, an ocean-view terrace, and impeccable style, this gem offers something for every treasured guest.

A whimsical gallery of original art graces the welcoming foyer and art throughout sets the tone for a tasteful experience with a touch of humor. The great room's floors, pine ceilings, and stone fireplace are a grounding backdrop to iconic mid-century furnishings. Four sliding doors flank the space. The ocean-view terrace, high above lush Mission Canyon, draws guests' gaze outward, where colorful sunrises and sunsets prevail. The mountain view patio off the great room is ideal for entertaining with a fire table, a barbecue, and lush gardens. The Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens are just below the property; access to a secluded back entrance allows guests to enjoy an early morning stroll in solitude. Magical.

Newly remodeled, the open-concept kitchen features matte black appliances, trendy SMEG countertop appliances, and culinary tools and service items for effortless cooking and entertaining. Meals are memorable at the marble dining table.

In the primary suite sleep soundly on the king-size bed with ocean and garden views. Soaking in the deep tub beneath a picture window in the remodeled en suite bathroom enhances moments of self-care and relaxation; a walk-in closet adds plenty of storage for the long-term guest. Two other bedrooms each have mountain and/or garden views; one with a king-size bed, the other with a queen. Between them is a hall bathroom, laundry, and a media room with a power-reclining leather sofa offering individualized comfort for television watching. The separate office is an ideal and very private space for meetings, or to disappear into a good book.

The grounds are lush with specimen cacti, blooming botanicals, and the occasional visit from a friendly deer passing through. Though newly planted, citrus trees will soon provide organic fruit juice for breakfast, or happy hour, depending on the season! Under the shade of a majestic oak, panoramic views make this a very special spot. Nearby, the convenience of shopping at Gelson's Market, browsing at locally beloved Chaucer's Bookstore, or sipping on a Starbucks latte is all only an 8-10 minute drive away. 

With refined modern design embraced by nature, Viewpoint offers a serene sense of place and elevated comfort in a setting that whispers sanctuary.

A Perfect Landing Spot: Our Beautiful Beginning in Santa Barbara
Our stay at 1297 Tunnel Road was wonderful. It was our haven for the first 6 weeks of our relocation to California from Europe, the house will always have a special place in our hearts as the place we landed and started our adventure in Santa Barbara! The house is impressive, a stunning example of mid century modern living, the hosts have furnished it with no expense spared, creating a homely yet exquisite environment to live in. The practicality of the space is incredible and worked seamlessly for our family, the little touches around the property were not lost on us. A beautiful place, thank you for an amazing welcome to California! Our next home has a lot to live up to!
